Order tracking can suffer from similar difficulties to the ones discussed before when there are close or crossing spectral lines. To remedy this difficulty, algorithms capable of handling multiple orders simultaneously have been proposed [25], mostly based on an adaptation of the celebrated Kalman filter [38, 39] and by creating narrow band- 33 pass filters. The latter techniques are not perfect and a multi-sensor approach can further enhance the separation of orders as these stem from different modes of vibration.
